Done is Better Than Perfect: A Call to Action

Done is Better Than Perfect: A Call to Action

Tell me if this scenario sounds familiar: You’re in the middle of something, something big and important, and you know that you have to push through to the other side… but you freeze with that perfection anxiety so you stop yourself from even taking the next step forward because It’s not good enough so why even […]

Unstuffed Peppers: A One-Pot Dinner That’s Paleo, Whole30, Gluten-Free, Low-Carb & Delicious!

Unstuffed Peppers: A One-Pot Dinner That’s Paleo, Whole30, Gluten-Free, Low-Carb & Delicious!

Whenever I have a little bit of lead time to make dinner, I like to pretend to be fancy. Should I do something complicated? Something in multiple dishes? Should I light the candles on the dinner table? My husband had taken the kids to swimming lessons on the night in question, so I had a […]

Butter in My Coffee? 5 Reasons Why I Love It!

Butter in My Coffee? 5 Reasons Why I Love It!

This is either insanely behind the times or mindblowing… I’m not sure which! A number of my friends have been touting the glories of butter in their coffee, and I always balked at that idea. Butter? Coffee? No no no no. Butter should probably be reserved for biscuits and Barefoot Contessa recipes. But then I started […]

Friday Favorites: September 15, 2017

I feel like every time I take a little break away from this blog or I don’t live up to my personal expectations of my posting schedule (hold up, wait a second… I had one? 😂), I feel like I have to give this lengthy explanation. But this time, no lengthy explanation! Life and a […]

The Fed and Fit Project: Progress Update

The Fed and Fit Project: Progress Update

Earlier this week, I was talking to my children about a family friend who will probably have to make some changes to the way they eat. And if we have them over at the house, we want them to feel supported and cared for. So I asked my children, “What are some good foods that […]

Fed and Fit Project: 4 Reasons Why I’m Giving It a Shot

Fed and Fit Project: 4 Reasons Why I’m Giving It a Shot

One of the touchstones of Whole30 is that you announce your participation to your friends, family, the known universe as an accountability measure. Because once you announce it, you’re on the hook. And I have to tell you that for my first few rounds of Whole30, that was 100% successful. I could tell my husband and […]

  • #tuesdayquotes | Friend, I want you to do this right now: drop a 🙉 in the comments to show that you’re not listening to this negative self talk 🐄💩 that can plague us
::
This morning, I talked about pushing down that negative monologue that says I’m not worthy, I’m not smart enough, I’m not fast enough... I’ve been going through 10,000 lashes, beating myself up for all the things I haven’t yet done.
::
Hold up for a second - I’ve done everything else A-X. Right now, I’m missing YZ.
::
All things considered, that’s pretty bad ass. I’m actively reminding myself REALLY OFTEN today that I kick ass at a lot of things, and the stuff that’s on my plate right now wouldn’t even be there if I weren’t kicking ass.
::
What is something that you kick ass at that you sometimes forget?
  • #makeupmonday | Real talk, friend: how’s your morning makeup routine? Have you waved the white flag 🏳 in surrender or does the thought of going through the motions have you seeing red 👹?
::
What if I told you I went from BEFORE to AFTER in less than 5 minutes (swipe to see just how much time I had left to spare from my countdown!)? My sanity was completely intact, and I looked pulled together enough for work. ::
Y’all I am all about saving my sanity, doing things efficiently and all that jazz while still looking presentable for client meetings. This @beautycounter Flawless in Five set does the trick and - legit here - it literally takes 5 minutes or fewer. Check out my #linkinbio for more deets 👀
